Building the Most Effective Community for Countering Disinformation

DROG was founded with a simple but ambitious goal: to build the most effective community for countering disinformation in Europe and beyond.

We recognized that fighting disinformation requires more than just fact-checking or media literacy. It demands a multi-generational approach that adapts to evolving threats and leverages diverse expertise.

Through our DIM (Disinformation Intervention Model), we've mapped out six generations of counter-disinformation interventions, each responding to different challenges and paradigms.

The DIM Model

The DROG Disinformation Intervention Model (DIM) categorizes interventions into six generations based on paradigm shifts in the field.

We believe there are no silver bullets. Different contexts require different approaches - and no single authority can solve the problem alone. That's why we focus on building collective capacity for communities to make sense of information together.

The Path Forward

Building coordination capacity - not finding better authorities, but empowering communities.
